3D X-ray diagnostics

One of the most important services provided by the specialists of the “Imatek-Dent” dental clinic to their patients is the diagnostics using a panoramic orthopantomograph (survey panoramic X-ray of both jaws).

3D tomography

A image is made after this procedure serves as a very serious assistant in finding out everything necessary about the patient's oral cavity. Based on it, it is even possible to calculate the exact budget needed for treatment. To obtain images a modern equipment made in Japan is used.

3D image is a three-dimensional image. To look inside a living human body, to find the cause of the disease is the dream of doctors of all time. After the invention of computer tomographs, it became a reality.
“Imatek-Dent” clinic has equipment of J. Morita, made in Japan (world leader among manufacturers of tomographs.)

3D Image

The advantages of computer tomography compared to other methods of X-ray diagnostics:

  • First of all, that with standard radiography or, for example, orthopantomography, the result is a single planar and summating image of the object, and with a CT scan, a three-dimensional object is completely scanned.
  • Any ordinary image is made in real time and subsequently remains a static flat image. It can be viewed on a X-ray view box or in a visiograph program, but to see an object from a different angle or in a different projection is already impossible – you need to make a new image for this.

In contrast, the three-dimensional reformate recovered in the computer's memory is an exact copy of the entire scanned area and, already without the patient, the specialist can examine any object of interest to them from any angle, any side, in all planes and at any depth.

  • Layer-by-layer incision. If a conventional X-ray is a summating image in which all parts located in series overlap each other, then a computer tomogram is a partition of the tissue of an object, a thickness from fractions of a millimeter to several millimeters, drawn randomly in a targeted area.
  • In the process of conducting an X-ray examination using any survey method, a certain projection distortion of the object in size or configuration will inevitably occur, which may lead to errors in image interpretation. When using computer tomography, the object is scanned almost “one to one”, which eliminates this type of distortion in the process of reconstructing a three-dimensional image and obtaining a partition.
  • All X-ray equipment used in the “Imatek-Dent” clinic significantly reduces radiation exposure to the patient.
  • 3D tomograph makes it possible to correctly and accurately position the implant, as well as to check the quality of treatment in therapeutic dentistry and during sinus elevation operations.
